  WHAT IS ROTARY?

Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

Solving real problems takes real commitment and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary's people of action have used their passion, energy, and intelligence to take action on sustainable projects. From literacy and peace to water and health, we are always working to better our world, and we stay committed to the end.

Ed Boeve

Stillwater Rotary Club

Ed was born and raised on a farm near Steen, a small community in the very southwest corner of Minnesota.  He is the oldest son in a family with eight siblings. Ed has a BA degree in Psychology/Sociology and a job working in a residential setting with delinquent adolescents. In his Rotary time Ed led the process to obtain and complete two district grant efforts in Kenya to support a school for orphans and to bring water to a remote village in the northwest quadrant of Pokot.  He served as Club President in 20/21, surviving the year of Covid!

Take Care of Your Heart

Picture
Lisa Lesak (left) Cardiac Services Manager and Michelle Arneson, Cardiac Services RN, Burnett Medical Center, gave a presentation about heart health at a recent Grantsburg Rotary meeting. The buildup of plaque in the arteries is a concern of most people as they grow older. Tests can confirm cardiac risk but, if a heart attack occurs, the cardiac team helps people to recover and strengthen their heart. They talked of diet, exercise, and realizing the risks you may have through lifestyle and heredity.
